THREE fire crews saved a driver after their car was forced off motorway.
Firefighters from Bolton Central were called at around 11:30pm last night to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars.
This resulted in one car being forced off the M61 southbound.
The driver suffered from minor injuries, but there were no major casualties.
Fire crews were between J6 and 5 for around 30 to 40 minutes, and police were also at the scene.
Watch manager Chris Wilcox said: “We arrived at around 11:30pm after two cars were involved in an RTC (Road Traffic Collision).
“One of the cars was forced off the motorway.
“The driver suffered from minor injuries, and the police are now investigating the incident.
“We made sure things were safe.”
