A walking club with an art twist is coming to Bolton in August.

The Walking Art Club is a friendly, welcoming and fun art class with a difference.

The class takes place over a 3 hour walk from the Pike Snack Shack on Georges lane, up to Rivington Pike and back down again.

All art materials are provided by the organiser and the class is led by artist Minty Barlow.

Artists can sketch with pencil and find natural materials and ink to appreciate nature.

A spokesman for the group said: “The Walking Art club is the perfect chance to meet new people, try something new & be creative. The class also boosts well-being, through being creative, spending time outdoors, exercising & socialising.

“The class will take place along the walk, with a number of stops to sketch and make marks of the landscape and natural forms around us.

“The walk is easy-moderate in parts, with some steep parts, uneven terrain & loose stone underfoot.”

All art activities are aimed at beginners, no prior experience is necessary.

In the instance of extreme weather, the class will be rescheduled and the choice of a refund or to transfer the ticket to a new date will be offered.

Materials that are provided include clip boards, art paper, brushes, pencils & ink.
