The air ambulance was scrambled over a major Bolton road earlier this week as paramedics were called to deal with an emergency at a “place of work.”

Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service were rushed to the scene on Manchester Road, Bolton near a branch of Kwikfit at around 11.35am on Wednesday afternoon.

As well as the air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a road ambulance were also called to the scene on Manchester Road with one person taken to hospital by road with unspecified injuries.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent a road ambulance, rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance.

“We took one patient to hospital via road ambulance.”

NWAS has not been able to provide further details on the nature of the person’s condition since the incident occurred at a place of work aside from confirming that they were called to the scene and that a person was injured.

No other injuries or damage to properties in the area has been reported.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

As yet, no other emergency services have reported having been called to the scene, but local residents reported seeing the air ambulance hovering over the area that morning.
