A BMW that had been stolen two years ago was found with cloned licence plates attached this week.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s traffic division reported finding the cloned BMW 1 Series after being on patrol in the Bromley Cross area on Friday.

On investigation the car, they found that it had been reported stolen in 2020.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Whilst out and about SRT Tasking Team officers attended Bromley Cross Bolton and located this cloned BMW 1 series.

“It was found to be a stolen from 2020.”

The stolen car has now been recovered and efforts will now be made to track down its rightful owners.

No arrests have as yet been reported in connection with the stolen car or cloned number plates.

This comes alongside several other cases of stolen cars and problem driving reported by traffic officers across the Greater Manchester city region over the course of the week.

A driver in Clifton was found to be using cannabis, while another cloned car, a Corsa, was found to have been used in a robbery in Salford.
