A MOTORIST who tried to hide from officers following a police chase was tracked by police dog Eddie .
Traffic police say a Seat car failed to stop and a pursuit took place.
The driver abandoned the car on Car Bank Crescent, Atherton and hid in a garden. He was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police’s Traffic Unit said: “This Seat on false plates failed to stop and was pursued through Atherton.
“Driver abandoned on Car Bank Crescent but was caught by PD Eddie hiding in a neighbouring garden.
"Arrested for no licence, no insurance, dangerous driving and also failed a roadside drugs test too.”

This comes after a spate of road and car related crimes in Bolton, including police seizing a BMW and an Audi recently.
The BMW driver, say police, was spotted inhaling balloons and had no insurance, while the Audi driver was unable to provide insurance for the vehicle.
Both drivers were reported for prosecution and both vehicles were seized, a spokesperson for GMP said.
