A man streamed his own death on Facebook, an inquest has heard.
At the opening of the inquest into the death of Paul Hilton, senior coroner Timothy Brennand heard how the 34-year-old was found dead at his home in Tennis Street in Bolton on April 30 this year.
Mr Brennand stated: "On April 30 he streamed his hanging on Facebook."
Police coroner’s officer Neil McCaffrey said that emergency services were called.
“999 were informed and emergency services attended the address. His life was found to be extinct when they arrived at the address," he said.
A post-mortem confirmed that death was due to hanging.
The court heard that Mr Hilton was identified by DC Martin O’Neill using a photograph.
The date for the hearing is yet to be fixed.
