VICTORIA Hall is holding a wide variety of events over the next couple of months, including a special indoor street party and a Jubilee concert.

The events have become a key part of helping to keep the church going.

On Saturday, Friends of Victoria Hall, along with the Northern Folk Ensemble, and Musicians from Bolton Music Service will hold a lunch time concert, with a lunch served at 1pm, and the concert taking place at 1pm.

The Jubilee celebrations will begin on Thursday, June 2 with an indoor street party, followed by a concert on Saturday 4 June, raising money for Wigan and Bolton Lever Rotary Clubs and the Wigan and Bolton Hospice Fund.

David Tomlinson, managing trustee and property steward of the hall, said: “There are some really good events on at the hall for the next month or so.

“All of the events help keep the hall open.

“It costs a lot of money to keep the building and church going, and over the years we have changed how we generate funds.

“We need concerts and events because of the retail shops that we owned that closed.

“I am really looking forward to all of the events, especially the Jubilee celebrations.”
