The owners of a popular pub in Bolton are moving on to pastures new.
Mandie Holland and Graham Wilson have run The White Horse for the last two-and-a-half years.
They took on the pub, which sits on the border of Breightmet and Harwood, not long before the pandemic started.
Mandie said: “It’s been hard, we took over the pub three-and-a half-months before the pandemic.
“We thought we’d knock it out the park and make a business plan, and then that happened.”
Mandie and her daughter, Megan Holland, reminisced on some of their experiences at the pub.
Mandie said: “We’ve done all sorts, I dressed up as a T-Rex for the kids at the school over the road.
“We’ve just kept ourselves busy and tried to keep everybody with a smile on their faces.
She added: “We had a thing, as long as people leave with a smile on their face.
On being asked if she was sad to leave, Mandie said: “That’s an understatement.”
Megan has worked at the pub for around 10 years and spoke about the managers there over the years.
She said:“Managers come and go, but they’ve been the best as anyone has been, and I’m not just saying that cause she’s my mum.”
Mandie, who was a regular at the pub before she became a landlord, remarked how her alcohol intake has lowered since working at the pub.
She said: “I’ve never drank as little in my life as I have since working here.
“It becomes harder once you see other people and you think am I like that.”
She closed off by saying: “I hope whoever gets it next looks after it.”
