A search is on to find 20 men that police want to speak to in connection with “disorder” at a Bolton Wanderers match.

The alleged disorder broke out both inside and outside the University of Bolton Stadium during Wanderers’ game against Sunderland on January 29 this year.

As part of the investigationn, officers have now released CCTV images of 20 people, all of them male, that they wish to speak to in relation to the events on January 29.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Police have released images of a number of people they wish to speak to in connection with disorder at the Bolton Wanderers vs Sunderland match on Saturday January 29 2022.

"A number of incidents occurred both inside and outside of the stadium including assault of a police officers, criminal damage and public order offences.”

The Sunderland fixture ended with a 6-0 victory for Bolton Wanderers with the vast majority of fans enjoying the game in peace and without causing any trouble.
