Hundreds of residents celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee in style at a community hall, which included a special visit from the mayor.

The celebrations were held at Walmsley Parish Church Community Hall, and it was complete with stalls, face paints, games, refreshments, and live music.

The supporters aim to continue raising funds to help modernise the kitchen and the toilets, as well as other upgrades at Walmsley Community Hall.

Many of the stalls were ran by volunteers in and around the community.

One stall in particular had a range of marmalades, including Dark Old English and English and Five Fruits, which were both winners of the bronze award in The Worlds Original Marmalade Awards in Cumbria.

As part of the fundraiser, there was also a special prize draw, where people won bath sets, wine, chocolates, and more.

Other activities included a tug of war on the school field, sack races, and soft archery.

Cllr Sam Connor and Nadeem Muslim also attended to show their support for the community.

The main hall was full of entertainment from junior Jubilee singers, Stargaze Dancers; jazz and rock music throughout the years by Anna, New Rosemere Singers, Disney favourites by Kathryn followed by a singalong.

During a speech, the borough mayor, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, said he felt "privileged" and "honoured".
