Metrolink passengers have been warned to expect a busier service than usual across the city region as popstar Billie Eilish comes to town.

The tram services across Bury- which includes Radcliffe- East Didsbury, Rochdale, Altrincham and Manchester Airport are all set to get much busier after about 4pm on Tuesday June 7 and Wednesday June 8 this week.

This comes with fans set to take to public transport to get to the much anticipated shows at the AO Arena, with doors set to open from 6.30pm on both days.

A Transport for Greater Manchester spokesperson said: “It's almost time for Billie Eilish at the AO Arena.

“Doors open from 6.30pm Tuesday and Wednesday, June 7 and 8.

“Services will be busier on the Airport, Altrincham, Bury, East Didsbury & Rochdale Metrolink lines from 4pm.

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you!”

The shows are amongst the most highly anticipated to come to the region this year with fans set to pour in from all across Greater Manchester and from the wider North West.

As such transport authorities and the police hope that people will keep the warning that lines will be busier in mind when making their way to the concerts or just passing through the relevant lines.
