An award-winning Indian restaurant is bidding to extend its opening hours up to 11pm every day of the week.

If granted, Desi Palace on Dunscar Industrial Estate, Blackburn Road, which offers a range of traditional Indian dishes, will be allowed to stay open between 2pm and 11pm from Monday to Sunday and will be allowed to serve alcohol up to 10.30pm.

The application has now gone to Bolton Council to await its decision for approval after interested parties have had the chance to give their views.

A council statement said: “Any interested party or responsible authority may make representations to the council regarding the application during the period of 28 consecutive days starting with the day after the application was lodged with the Council, that day being June 9 2022.

“The last day for representations to be made will therefore be July 7 2022.

“All representations must be made in writing.”

Desi Palace’s opening times are currently listed as 5.30pm to 10pm every day of the week except Sundays, when the restaurant is open from 4.20pm to 10pm.

The restaurant, previously known as Hot Chilli, is a two-time winner of the Best Indian Restaurant in United Kingdom award at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway of the Year Awards 2018 and 2019.
