Tributes are pouring in for Bolton-born Dragons' Den star Hilary Devey, who died on Saturday, aged 65.

The successful business mogul died at her holiday home in Morocco after a long illness.

Now, businesses and organisations she liked and worked with in her home town are coming together to offer their condolences.

Hilary, who owned haulage business Pall-Ex, took over from James Caan on Dragons' Den in 2011 and stayed until the following June.

Other successful TV work included in 2014, when Hilary ran Running the Shop for Channel 4 and she became a guest panellist on the ITV lunchtime chat show Loose Women in 2015.

Hilary studied at Bolton County Grammar School and was made an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration by the University of Bolton, for services to business.

The entrepreneur was honoured by the Queen in 2013, being awarded a CBE for services to the transport industry and charity.

Hilary was also a proud Bolton Wanderers fan.

A spokesman for Wanderers said: “Everyone at Bolton Wanderers was greatly saddened to hear of Hilary’s death.

“As a hugely successful and high-profile entrepreneur, businesswoman and media personality she was a real good-news story for the town.

“She rightly gained recognition for her outstanding charity work and, as a Bolton fan, will be missed as a member of the wider Wanderers community.

“Our thoughts are with her family and friends.”
