More than 2,300 homes have lost power in Bolton today, Friday, after unexpected damage to a cable.
The power cut was reported by utilities company Electricity North West at around 10.10am on Friday morning.
According to the company, homes and businesses in the BL6 and BL1 areas in Horwich have been hit, totalling 2,352 energy users.
An Electricity North West statement said: “We are aware of a power cut in Bolton, BL6 and BL1, affecting 2,352 customers.
“Our engineer is on their way to investigate.
It added: “If you or anybody in your household require assistance, please call us on 105.”
Electricity North West currently estimates that power will be restored by around 1pm.
A statement said: “We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible.
It added: “Please be aware that all our time scales are estimated based on previous experience and may change if new information becomes available while our engineers are fixing the issue.
“With high voltage power cuts, we're often able to get many of the homes involved back on before our estimated time of restoration.”
