A car has been seized after police in Bolton reportedly discovered that the driver was both uninsured and did not have a licence.
The driver, who was travelling in a Toyota Yaris, was spotted by officers on patrol on High Street in the early hours of Monday morning.
On stopping the driver, he was found to have now licence or insurance, police said.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “ME08 was out and about in Bolton on High Street when this Yaris caught his attention.
“Vehicle showed no insurance.
“A check on the driver revealed he did not have a licence either.”
Officers have confirmed that after stopping the Toyota Yaris driver, the car has now been seized.
This comes after other recent cases of car related crime, including the use of cloned number plates, driving without insurance and driving without in and around the Bolton area in recent months and further afield in Greater Manchester.
Many of these have resulted in cars being seized by officers and sanctions handed out to owners.
Police have appealed for anyone concerned about vehicle theft or about other cases of crime and anti-social behaviour on the roads to phone 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
