Two Bolton mayors will be attending this year’s summer concert at Victoria Hall, which is sure to entertain plenty of families.

The Eagley Band, Victoria Hall, summer concert will take place on Saturday, July 9 at 7.30pm.

The mayor of Bolton, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, and the mayor of Horwich, Cllr Steven Chadwick, will both be VIP guests in the circle balcony at the concert.

A spokesperson from Victoria Hall said: “Everyone involved in the concert is proud and honoured that not one, but two Bolton Mayors will be in attendance.”

The concert will feature the full Eagley Band and conductor Chris Wormald in every piece throughout the evening.

The band and the conductor will be joined together with performances in both halves by the community choir and by the community band after the interval.

Cllr Zaman and Cllr Chadwick are both no strangers to Eagley Band this month.

At the start of June, Cllr Zaman took to the stage with Eagley Band outside Bolton Town Hall in the town centre square as the band performed for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, with music ranging from Genesis, Elgar and Toto to Birdland, Parry and James Bond.

That same bank holiday weekend, the full Eagley Band performed all afternoon in Horwich on Friday, June 3, just days after the band provided all of the music for the inauguration service of Cllr Chadwick as the new Mayor of Horwich, at St Mary's R.C. Church the previous Sunday.

Cllr Chadwick has nominated Eagley Band as one of the registered charities for his year in office and the band will be performing at a number of events for his charities throughout the year.

Tickets for the concert are all priced at £5 and are already selling well.
