A BOLTON shop which was caught supplying thousands of packets of illegal cigarettes and tobacco pouches has been fined by magistrates.
In a case brought by Bolton Council, Lvin Foodstore Ltd, on St Helens Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to supplying 13,293 packets of cigarettes and 40 pouches of tobacco which did not conform to legal packaging or carry the required health warnings.
The company was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £190 towards the costs of funding victim services.
Ali Mala Bram Poor, aged 34, of Hibernia Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the same offences and was also fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £3,306 in council costs.
The tobacco products were forfeited and destroyed.
