A traditional ladies lunch was extra special this year as it celebrated three decades of helping Bolton's most vulnerable young people.

Back-Up North West held its annual charity lunch at the Holiday Inn at which 120 women attended to celebrate 30 years of the charity's work.

As well as entertainment from singer, John Norcott, the charity's CEO Maura Jackson provided the laughs as she took to the stage for a stand-up comedy routine.

And she had the diners in stitches with her stories about her life, dating and faux pas.

The lunch was sponsored by Boo Coaching, KP Financial Wellbeing, Costco, Lisa Forshaw and Cura Accounting.

Maura said: "The atmosphere was wonderful and there was a fashion show organised by She Boutique, 2 of the models were young residents of Backup, Destiny and Charlie who were amazing. They volunteered to get involved and overcame their nerves to support the event, both were naturals.

" The event was supported also by colleagues from Lloyds Bank (Hotel Street branch) who are always around to assist the charity’s fundraising. One of the guests was Backup Guardian Marie Walsh from Ye Olde Pasty shop who brought Paddington with her straight after his audience with HRH Queen Elizabeth at her Jubilee last weekend. The Holiday Inn don’t serve marmalade sandwiches so he had a pasty.

"All the money raised is tackling homelessness locally, changing lives for young people."

Guest enjoyed browsing stalls, an auction and a raffle.
