The stunning Ribble Valley village of Downham will be explored in one of the walks being organised by a Bolton rambling club this week.

Bolton CHA Rambling Club has announced its next set of walks.

Three walks will take place this Saturday, July 2, including one taking place in the picturesque Downham village.

For this 10 mile walk, people are asked to meet at Aldi on Higher Bridge Street, at 9am or at Downham Village car park where the walk will start at 10am.

The second walk that day will be of Healey Nab, which will be nine miles long – and the meeting point will be Rivington Hall Drive,  at 10.30am.

The final walk of the day will be at Turton Tower, which will be five miles long.

Those taking part are asked to meet the group at Turton Tower at 10.30am.

The other set of walks will take place on Wednesday, July 6.

The first walk of the day will be of The Chimney, starting at Clough Head car park at 10.30.

The walk will be 8.5 miles long.

And eight mile walk will take place in  Affetside, starting at Ousel’s Nest car park at 10.30am.

The final walk will be of High Rid, which will be seven miles long.

The meeting poing will be at the overspill car park at Heaton Fold Garden Centre, at 10.30am.

Non-members are invited but are asked to make themselves known to the walk leader on the day.
