An exhbition on Rivington's reservoirs opens this week.
Horwich Heritage Centre’s new exhibition will celebrates 175 years of the reservoirs.
It will open on Saturday at 10am and run until September 29.
The display will showcase the history, design maps and artefacts relating to the reservoirs.
The exhibition will be at Horwich Heritage Centre on Beaumont Road, Horwich, with admission being free.
Horwich Heritage was formed in 1985 following public meetings aimed at re-establishing a sense of local pride after the closure of Horwich Locomotive Works the previous year.
Over the years the society has grown in numbers, to the point where they were able to open their Heritage Centre in 1995, subsequently moving to their current premises in 2006.
