Police discovered the body of a man at a block of flats in Bolton after having been called out to another incident.
Emergency services were called to Kent Court yesterday at 10.30am to assist a woman following a report of a concern for welfare.
The woman was taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service and police have confirmed that she is now fine.
But while on that incident officers discovered the dead body of a man at a separate address.
GMP have confirmed that they are not treating the man's death as suspicious and there are no further investigations into the circumstances.
A spokesperson for GMP told The Bolton News: "We were called out to help with a woman in distress. She was taken to hospital and is now fine.
"Whilst there, officers discovered the body of a man at a separate address.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious."
A report has now been filed with the coroner.
Police remained on the scene until late afternoon and a cordon was in place.
People were not allowed in or out of their flats while a Crime Scene Investigation team examined the scene.
