Bolton: Spinning Mule Wetherspoon pub on Nelson Square to reopen

The Spinning Mule, on Nelson Square, was closed on June 27 to allow the £446,000 works to take place.

The transformation will be unveiled on Saturday.

The pub will feature new seating areas and five new members of staff.

It will be opened by Mayor of Bolton Cllr Akhtar Zaman.

Cllr Zaman said: “I’m excited about this, our town centre very much needs these buildings to be occupied so I welcome the reopening of the Spinning Mule and I’m looking forward to seeing it for myself this Saturday.”

The pub has been undergoing a £446,000 revamp

The five new members of staff now brings the number of people working at the pub to 40.

Pub manager Simon Long said: “We are thrilled with our refurbished pub and upgraded facilities and are confident that customers will enjoy the new-look environment of The Spinning Mule.”

A brand-new beer garden has been added to the rear of the premises, with space for approximately 20 seated customers.

New furniture has been added, as well as existing furniture refurbished, and four new  fixed booth seating areas have also been installed.

The pub will be ready to open its doors again on Saturday

A new lobby area has been added to the front of the pub, with a mural on the wall of the pub entrance, and new additional artwork is now on display, while the bar area and coffee station have both been upgraded, as has the existing fireplace.

The toilets have been redecorated and a new staff room and changing room has been added.

The stonework on the exterior of the building, at the front of the pub, has been cleaned and new signage has been installed.

The Spinning Mule is set to be officially reopened by Cllr Zaman at 9am on Saturday July 16.
