Police have seized three vehicles today during a mobile patrol operation in Breightmet.

One of the vehicles that officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team spotted, was a Chevrolet whilst they were conducting mobile patrols in the area.

After being spotted by officers, the driver left the area.

But officers located the vehicle soon after on Bailey Lane.

Checks on the vehicle showed that it was a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle is now being forensically examined in an attempt to identify the offender.

A spokesperson from GMP Bolton North said: “Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have seized three motor vehicles today.

“The Chevrolet was sighted by officers conducting mobile patrols.

“Initially the vehicle made off from the area after sighting officers.

“However, it was discovered a short time later on Bailey Lane.

“Checks on the vehicle showed that it is an outstanding stolen vehicle.

“The vehicle is being forensically examined in an attempt to identify the offender.”

Whilst on Bailey Lane, police also discovered a Mazda 6 on the same street.

A spokesperson from GMP Bolton North said: “The Mazda 6 was also discovered by officers on Bailey Lane.

“This vehicle has been seized as it is suspected to be used for criminal behaviour in the local area.”

A Renault Scenic was also seized on Back Bury Road, after officers discovered the license plates were fake, and believed it to be a stolen vehicle.

A spokesperson from GMP Bolton North said: “The Renault Scenic was discovered by officers on Back Bury Road.

“Checks on the vehicle showed that it was displaying false plates and the vehicle has been seized as it is suspected to be stolen.”
