A motorist in Bolton was found to have been on the roads for 16 years without a licence or insurance, police have said.
Officers from the roads policing unit came across a Hyundai Getz in Horwich.
The driver tried to avoid them but drove down a dead end, it was reported.
When police carried out further checks he was found to be under the influence of cocaine, according to officers.
A Greater Manchester Police Traffic spokesman added: "He also admitted he has been driving for 16 years without a licence or insurance."
Police confirmed that they had seized the vehicle which he was driving.
Motorists found to be behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs can expect a minimum of a one-year ban from the roads and are also at risk of a custodial sentence.
