Concerns are growing for a man who went missing in Scotland earlier this month and is now believed to be somewhere in Bolton.

Patrick Harvey, 69, was last seen in the Kilsyth area of Lanarkshire on Saturday, July 2 at around 10pm and his family say it is out of character for him to be away from home for so long.

Officers believed he travelled by train from Glasgow Central Train Station to Blackpool at around 9.30am on Sunday, July 3 and that he was in the Bolton area on Wednesday, July 13.

Sergeant Pamela McFarlane, of Cumbernauld Police Station, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace Patrick.

“It is out of character for him to be away for so long and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“We have had reported sightings of him in Blackpool but we now believe that he is in the Bolton area.”

According to police, Mr Harvey is 6"1 tall with greying hair and he was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and grey trainers.

Police have urged anyone who may have seen Mr Harvey or who has any information about his whereabouts to get in touch by contacting contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 1051 of July 4.
