A charity has received a £20,000 grant from a leading bakery brand to continue its confidential support and information service for those caring for someone in Bolton.

Bolton Carers Support supports adults who look after a relative or friend that requires help due to illness, disability or frailty.

As Bolton Carers Support services are free of charge to members, a grant from Warburtons will be beneficial in the development of its day-to-day services by funding the creation of a brand-new digital carers platform.

The platform, which carers and their families can access online, will provide users with local support to help them look after their own health and wellbeing.

Alongside this, the charity hopes to promote better understanding and recognition of carers' needs whilst offering their network time off from caring roles.

Georgette Kay, chief officer, at Bolton Carers Support, said: “We are grateful for the support that Warburtons has been able to offer Bolton Carers Support.

“The £20,000 grant will enable us to connect with as many carers and their families as possible in Bolton – carers always put the person or people who depend on them first, sometimes to the detriment of their own mental or physical health, we want all carers to know there is friendly, independent and confidential support available for them."
