A Bolton not-for-profit group held a charity fund-giving ceremony which has been hailed as ‘fantastic’.

The not-for-profit group gave £500 each to Bolton Hospice, Whysup, Pheniks Division, Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Be Strong and Bolton Wanderers Ex-Players Association.

“There were around 30 people there for the handing over of £3000 from the Bolton Wanderers Remembrance Group funds.

“All raised at the charity football game held at the Skuna stadium home of the Atherton Coll’s back on the June 25.

“Thanks to Ricky Brown on behalf of the Colls for being great hosts on the day. Thanks to Carl and the staff at our charity headquarters, The Vulcan Inn and to all our recipients and local charities.”

He continued: “Bolton Hospice received £500, accepted by Ava & Super John McGinlay. WHYSUP received £500, accepted by Mark & Frank Joseph. Pheniks Division received £500, accepted by Shoeie & Stevie.

“Bolton Wanderers in the Community received £500, accepted by Ben Lawton. Be Strong received £500, accepted by Darren Armstrong. And last but not least our own Bolton Wanderers Ex Players Association received £500, accepted by legends of our club, John Thomas and Roy Greaves.

“Thanks to everyone who turned up and supported the presentation and more importantly everyone who supports our work. This is what the group is all about. Giving and supporting the local people and charities of Bolton Town.”
