MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to have treatment for drug addiction after he damaged windows at a property on May 27 and racially harassed a woman for three months until June.

Daniel Whiteside, aged 29, of Gladstone Street, Bolton, initially denied committing the offences but then, at Manchester Magistrates’ Court, changed his plea to guilty.

He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison, suspended for two years and must participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities as well as pay £150 in compensation plus £228 in costs and charges.

A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim.
