Bolton biggest housing provider is looking for would-be volunteers to join its mediation service.

Bolton at Home’s resolve service works to help resolve conflicts between neighbours and come to resolutions.

Now, the housing group is appealing for members of the public to come forward, or recommend people who may have the appropriate skills, to volunteers with them

A statement from Bolton at Home said: “You’ll most likely know a people person who’s open-minded, empathetic, up for a challenge, and available for a few hours a week.

“If you do- tell them they could become a volunteer mediator in our Resolve service, working alongside our staff to support neighbours to work out disputes and conflicts.

“Full training is provided, with previous volunteer mediators moving onto careers in the police, housing, counselling, local government, and social work.”

Bolton at Home maintains around 18,000 homes all across the borough and its Resolve service is one of several available to tenants.

The service is free to use for all tenants and the group says that it has a strong track record for resolving cases, with lasting success, and its tenants report high levels of customer satisfaction.

Anyone interested in being a mediator can call Cat Woodall-Crook on 07789 031 622, or Zandra Morris-Richards on 07768 144 498.
