Fun for all the family is guaranteed at Bolton Central Fire Station this weekend.

The fire station is holding an open day on Saturday,  from 11pm to 4pm.

There will be fun and activities for all ages - from games, rides and stalls to mock crash demonstrations and opportunities to look around fire engines and other appliances.

Chris Spary, Crew Manager at Bolton Central, said:“We’ve got all the emergency services as well as the army. There will be plenty of kids games and rides -  including a driving simulator for ages 12 and over.

“There will be collision demonstrations at noon and 2pm, that will show visitors what emergency services do when called to a crash.”

St John Ambulance will be at the open day teaching first aid and CPR and Bolton Mountain Rescue Team will stage a rope demonstration.

Crew Manager Spary said:  “All money raised will be going to The Firefighters Charity.

“The Fire Fighters Charity a fantastic charity, they can’t do enough for us."

He added: “The general public learn an awful lot about what we and the other emergency services do to help the public."
