Delays are expected between Salford and Wigan this morning on the Northern train after a points failure at Atherton.
The problem is expected to being place until around 11am.

All stations between Swinton Moorside, Walkden, Atherton, Hag Fold and Daisy Hill will not be served.
Trains going through Bolton are not affected by this however trains between Salford Crescent and both Wigan stations could be diverted through the town.
Road transport has also been requested to help people complete their journey during this time.
National Rail has also advised that customers who encounter a delay may be entitled to compensation.
