A new modern British restaurant and bar is set to take over the former 'India Gate' restaurant in Westhoughton, opening to guests this autumn.

Ewe Restaurant & Bar will serve up British cuisine alongside global inspired dishes for, what is being described as  'an immersive dining experience'.

The restaurant will accommodate up to 90 customers, including a private dining room, a garden room with a fireplace, outdoor terrace and a large open plan bar area.

The will also be live music and performances on stage at the weekends in the main bar area.

Operations Manager, Nathan Baxter said: “After finding such a gem of a venue, we knew we had to do something creative and exciting to bring it back to life for the local community.

“The name 'Ewe' was inspired by the site’s countryside location, and our mission to offer 'you' the guest, a unique dining experience each and every time.

“We're very excited to be able to showcase our love for great food, impeccable service and our love for hospitality, which has taken such a hit over the last few years due to the Covid crisis.

“'Ewe' really are in for a treat.”

The restaurant will serve lunch, a la carte, a children's menu, and afternoon tea in the garden room.

Ewe is currently in the building stage of the project. Staff are hoping to get their booking system and website live within the next few weeks to hopefully start taking bookings from September 2022.

Although an official date has not been set, Ewe is looking to open in October 2022.

And even though Christmas may be a few months away, a full Christmas menu and NYE event will be announced in September.

The new bar and restaurant are located at 370 Chorley Rd, Westhoughton, Bolton BL5 3NB.
