Two people have been arrested in Bolton after officers say they found with drugs in a stolen vehicle.

Police came across a Ford which they later found was on false plates.

It later emerged the car had been stolen in June.

Police say they found further evidence of criminality inside the Ford.

A GMP spokesperson said: "A large bag of cannabis was found in the boot.

"The driver and passenger were arrested."

Police say the cannabis was stored up inside a large black bin bag in the boot of the vehicle.

GMP recently increased the staff in its Roads Policing Unit as part of an effort to make the streets safer.

Earlier this week police say a car was seized in Breightmet after it was found the driver did not have a licence or insurance.
