A man from Bolton is among three men who have been arrested following a burglary in Northwich.

Police were called to a business on Hollands Road following reports of a burglary that had occurred just before 12.10am today, Friday, August 5.

Officers swiftly attended and on arrival the suspects fled the scene in a white Transit van, following a brief pursuit, the vehicle was abandoned in the Lostock Gralam area.

After a search of the area, three men were arrested.

A 32-year-old man from Bolton was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of a class B drug (cannabis), dangerous driving, failing to stop and drug driving.

A 23-year-old man from Manchester was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, failing to stop and failing to provide a specimen.

 

A 34-year-old man from Salford was arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, failing to stop.

Detective Constable Claire Heatley, of Northwich Beat Team, said:“This investigation is in the early stages, however I am sure that these arrests provide reassurance for residents in the area and the wider business community.

“I also hope that it acts as a warning to other offenders who are thinking about coming into Cheshire to commit crime.

“As our enquiries continue, I would urge anyone with any information or video footage which may aid our investigation to get in touch.”

All three men remain in custody at this time where they are being questioned by detectives.
