A road in Smithills will be closed for vital gas works.
Sharples Park will be closed for approximately two weeks from August 22 whilst gas works take place in the area.
The road closure will prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Sharples Park from Broad O'th Lane to Rhosleigh Avenue to allow gas works to take place.
Alternate routes for traffic will be via Mackenzie Street and Oldhams Lane to allow residents to travel around the area with ease.
To ensure recycling bins are emptied during the works, council officials are asking residents to present them at the nearest accessible point to ensure that they can be emptied on the usual collection days.
Council officials say they want to apologise for any inconvenience the closure may cause.
