Transport for Greater Manchester is encouraging people to access its 'bike library'.
The library, located at Blackrod Sports and Communtiy Centre, is part of a network of local hubs across Greater Manchester that allow people to borrow a bicycle.
A TfGM spokesperson said: "Live in Bolton and fancy a cycle but don’t have a bike?
"Head to the bike library at Blackrod Sports and Community Centre, a local hub that will allow you to borrow a bike and try it out, just like you would with a book."
The aim is to boost access to cycling so poeple can take advantage of developing cycling infrastructure across the region.
"Our bike libraries support similar schemes that are live in Greater Manchester and help create locally sustainable models where bikes are donated, fixed up and used," the spokesperson said.
They added: "If you have a bike you no longer use and would like to donate then please contact your local bike library to discuss arranging this."
