A MAN has pleaded guilty to making a hoax bomb threat in Knutsford.
Tony Lowe has admitted telling a woman that a rucksack containing an explosive device was in the town on Monday, July 4.
The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence at Chester Crown Court and was remanded in custody at a hearing on August 4.
The defendant also admitted causing criminal damage to a television, speakers and other household items belonging to a man in Knutsford on the same day.
Lowe has pleaded not guilty to assaulting the owner of this property.
He has also denied charges of affray and using threatened unlawful violence towards other people. He also pleaded not guilty to assaulting and falsely imprisoning a woman in Knutsford, detaining her against her will.
Lowe, of Ashton Old Road in Manchester, has also denied two separate charges of threatening three men with an offensive weapon.
All the offences are alleged to have happened in Knutsford on the same day, July 4, this year.
The case was adjourned for trials at Chester Crown Court in the coming months.
Lowe will be sentenced for making a hoax bomb threat and causing criminal damage when the case is concluded.
