THREE groups have been awarded a share of £6,500 in community awards from Wilmslow Town Council.
Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank, a charity that collects and distributes personal hygiene items to women and girls facing financial hardship, has received £2,500.
The funding will be used to buy items such as toothpaste, shampoo and soap in bulk to form some of the essentials that go into packs for parents struggling to provide for their families.

Whilst Bare Necessities is very grateful to individuals who put products into their donation boxes, this grant will help them when they have a shortfall of specific items.
Wilmslow Bowling Club, which offers crown green bowling for all ages, both socially and competitively, has been awarded £2,000.
The grant will help towards the cost of re-felting a roof of the clubhouse and adjoining building, to prevent internal damage from leaks.
Alderley and Wilmslow Musical Theatre Company, who enabled local residents to enjoyt musical, dramatic and operatic arts, has received a grant of £2,000.
The funding will pay towards hire costs of Wilmslow Leisure Centre for their next show, A Christmas Carol in November.
Cllr Frank McCarthy, chairman of Wilmslow Town Council, said: “It is a pleasure to provide funding to the three very different projects, which very much highlight the breadth of support available through the council’s grant scheme.
“We wish all three groups success with their plans.
