Various roads in the town centre will closed towards the end of the month due to the Bolton Food and Drink Festival.

The temporary road closures and restrictions will be in place between 6AM Monday August 22 and 6PM Wednesday August 31.

Temporary road closures include:

  • Le Mans Crescent from Howell Croft North to Howell Croft South
  • Deansgate from Market Street to Knowsley Street
  • Howell Croft North from Back Deansgate to Le Mans Crescent
  • Ashburner Street from Queen Street to Howell Croft South
  • Howell Croft South from Ashburner Street to Victoria Square South
  • Coronation Street from Victoria Square South to the Newport Arcade
  • Victoria Square North from Le Mans Crescent to Victoria Square
  • Victoria Square South from Le Mans Crescent to Coronation Street
  • Corporation Street from Knowsley Street to Bridge Street
  • Market Street from Corporation Street to Hotel Street
  • Lorne Street between Bridge Street and Market Street
  • Old Hall Street between Deansgate and Victoria Square North

There will be a temporary suspension of one-way traffic on these streets:

  • Blackhorse Street between Ashburner Street and Deansgate
  • Hotel Street between Market Street and Mealhouse Lane
  • Mealhouse Lane between Hotel Street and Deansgate
  • Coronation Street between the Newport Arcade and Great Moor Street

There will be a temporary suspension of prohibition of driving on Coronation Street from a point 65m south of the junction with Victoria Square for 7m in a southerly direction.

There will also be a temporary suspension of contra-flow bus lane on Blackhorse Street between Deansgate and Ashburner Street.

Lastly there will be temporary taxi stands to be established on Deansgate from 14m west of Howell Croft North for 55m in a westerly direction.

Diversion routes will be signposted.
