Staff and customers at a Bolton car dealership are saddling up to raise money.

Williams MINI on Raikes Lane, Bolton, will take part in a virtual bike race for Maggie's Cancer Centres

The event will take place over two days, August 20 and 21, and the Bolton branch will be one of five showrooms – joining Liverpool, Manchester, Rochdale, and Stockport - putting in exercise bike for fundraisers to race on.

The teams will be riding the virtual circuit between Maggie’s Manchester, Maggie’s Oldham and Maggie’s Wirral, totalling 121 miles. Whichever team covers the most laps will be crowned ‘Bike for Maggie’s Challenge winners 2022’.

The Bolton team  is  inviting customers and friends to drop in to help push their chosen location to victory.

The virtual bike ride is part of a pledge made by Williams to raise money for Maggie’s to help raise funds to continue their work supporting people and their families who are going through cancer.

The weekend-long event is also part of the ‘MINI Big Love’ project- an initiative to celebrate life and create happiness.

Alexandra Cook, development director at the Williams Group, said: “Raising money for Maggie’s is a great way for Williams to celebrate the MINI Big Love project to create happiness from this great iconic brand.

“Our virtual bike ride over the weekend is open to anyone passing by any of the Williams MINI centres, and we would welcome anyone who could join us for a short session on the bike in our showroom to help us achieve our goals.

“We are spreading Big Love across the North West, delivering on our pledge to support this community-based charity.”

Robin Muir, centre head at Maggie’s Manchester said: “We are delighted that the Williams team have once again come up with a creative and fun way to raise funds for us as part of their ongoing commitment to Maggie's.”
