Bolton has been issued a yellow warning by the Met Office, meaning thunderstorms are on their way to the town.
After a prolonged period of hot, dry weather, Bolton is now set of downpours and electrical storms, along with the rest of the nation.
"Hit-and-miss thunderstorms likely to develop through Monday, producing some torrential downpours for some spots, and possible disruption," the leading weather forecaster said.
The Met Office is warning of potential flooding, which could lead to road closures, damage to homes and businesses, disruption to public transport and possible power cuts.
