A driver has been arrested after allegedly failing to stop for a police patrol while uninsured and then running off on foot.
A Ford Focus was spotted by officers being driven on Brownlow Way, Bolton on Tuesday evening.
The driver then allegedly did not stop and tried to make off on foot before being caught by police who say that he had no insurance.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “The driver of this Focus didn’t want to stick around for one of our patrols earlier this evening on Brownlow Way, Bolton.
“After pulling over and running off, he was detained a short distance away.
“Blowing 122 roadside and no insurance was probably the reason.”
This comes after several other recent cases of crime and anti-social behaviour on the roads in Bolton and the surrounding area.
This has included cases people driving without licences or insurance as well as speeding or driving dangerously.
Police officers have also reported several cases of speeding and of drink and drug driving.
Officers have appealed for anyone with concerns about similar offences to call 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
