Jobs fairs are set to be held twice weekly in Bolton to help get more and more people into work.

The fairs will be held at Bolton Job Centre throughout August and September, focusing on a variety of different themes.

These will include voluntary work experience, care, Bolton Council, a Ukrainian customers jobs and support fair, the NHS and Christmas seasonal work.

Department for Work and Pensions minister Julie Marson said: “We recognise people are struggling with rising prices and our work coaches stand ready to provide practical help for people to increase their earnings even after they’ve secured a job.

“Being in stable employment is one of the best ways for people to get on, but we’re also providing £1,200 direct payments for millions of low income households as part of our £37bn package of support to help with the cost of living.”

The jobs fairs over the come months follow on from a series of similar events hosted by the Department for Work and Pensions in Bolton over the course of this year, which have also aimed to showcase local employers.

The job centre will also be working alongside Bolton Council to host a skills and learning fair in Victoria Square on September 8.
