Two Bolton establishments have been awarded food hygiene ratings after their recent inspections by the Food Standards Agency.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have rated one establishment a four and one establishment a three.

Charlies Fish & Chips at 149 Bolton Road, Westhoughton, was handed a four of five rating after their assessment on July 12.

The inspection report states that the hygienic food handling and the management of food safety is good whilst the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building is generally satisfactory.

Desi House at 264-266 Halliwell Road, Bolton was also rated on July 12 and was handed a three out of five rating.

It means that of Bolton's 384 takeaways with ratings, 123 (32%) have ratings of five and just five have zero ratings.
