The University Collegiate School (UCS), part of Quest Trust, is celebrating another year of outstanding A-level results, with a 100% pass rate.

There has been a relentless drive to raise standards in all subject areas, teacher said.

The Sixth Form continues to deliver the pass rate in both A-level and vocational qualifications, with over 67% of A-Level candidates achieving A*-B, ensuring 'that the school cements its place as one of the very best sixth form provisions in the country'.

Staff said the students have once again overcome significant barriers to learning during the pandemic, and their resilience, has now prepared them to enter the next phase of their development at university, apprenticeships, and employment.

Four students gained the very best A-Level results, with Helin achieving three A*s in Biology, Maths and Physics, Ilwaad achieving three As in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, Fatima achieving three Distinctions in Applied Science, Nayab achieving two Distinctions and a Distinction in Applied Science, and Alaiha remarkably achieving two Distinctions in just one year.

Helin will be going on to study Biotechnology with Industrial/Professional Experience at the University of Manchester.

She said: “The work experience, and virtual work experience placements that the UCS has offered me over my time here have been instrumental in supporting me with my choices for next steps.”

Subject areas in which students performed to outstanding levels included Biology (100% A*-A), Chemistry (50% A*-A) and Physics (100% A*-D).

A spokesperson for UCS said: “We are delighted to say that over 94% of our students have secured destinations to study health sciences and engineering which is encouraging as we continue grow our outstanding provision at pace next year.

“And 100% of our students have secured university places at their destinations of choice.”

The college is an 11-19 extended UTC, sponsored and supported by the University of Bolton and co-located on its campus.
