Festival goers are in for the fright of their lives if they dare to try out a Boltonian horror themed photobooth.
The booth will feature at the Leeds festival and will be themed around BBC3's Red Rose, a terrifying adventure written by the Bolton born Clarkson Twins (The Haunting of Bly Manor) and the producers of Sex Education.
The final three episodes of the acclaimed series have already premiered at The Light Cinema on August 25, the the proceeds helping to create scholarships for underprivileged people in Bolton to attend acting classes.
Michael Clarkson said: “The proceeds will go to generate scholarships for a few underprivileged Boltonian's to attend local acting classes.
“Bolton has so much talent in it, but opportunities are rife.
“Watching the final three cinema-worthy episodes on the big screen and giving to Bolton at the same time feels like a fun way to round off viewing the show.”
Set and filmed in Bolton in the long hot summer following GCSEs, the heroes’ friendships are infiltrated by the Red Rose app, which blooms on their smartphones, threatening them with dangerous consequences if they don’t meet its demands.
The app exposes the group to a seemingly supernatural entity and the seductive, terrifying power of the dark web. Red Rose is ultimately a story of friendship, told through the prism of a classic horror-thriller.
Fans will get the chance to sample this themselves with the Leeds Festival photobooth.
Designed by BBC Creative and expert model makers and special effects technicians Asylum, the interactive grave is complete with a headstone which has been designed to look just like a smartphone.
Those brave enough to pose for photos inside will then have the chance to use an integrated rose thorn Snapchat filter.
But just when they’ve been lured into a false sense of security, main character Rochelle played by Isis Hainsworth will appear for a frightening jump-scare.
The Leeds Festival will take place from August 26 to 28.
It is available to watch every Monday and Tuesday on BBC Three at 10pm, with all episodes available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
