A Bolton rugby team have revealed new shirts to honour an Italian rugby team who visited them recently while being hunted by the mafia.

The Briganti rugby team from Italy had four fun filled days with Bolton Rugby Club, meeting the Sale Shark team as well as enjoying a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The young people from Sicily had their bus attacked in the harsh town of Limbrino, where organised crime is rife.

The Bolton Rugby Club have commemorated the visit in August with new T-shirts.

A spokesman for the club said: “You can now get your hands on one of our exclusive commemorative shirts! Designed especially for Bolton and @RugbyIBriganti for players who played in the matches during the Briganti visit to Bolton as they have received a lot of attention.

“The shirts are available to order up to 11 September and we'll post them out mid October.

“Why not add on a 150th Commemorative yearbook? This is a complete history of Bolton Rugby Club, including a foreword from Eddie Jones & Bill Beaumont and packed with pictures and articles of former glories.”

To order, email order@boltonrugby.co.uk with a name, address and shirt size (SB – 4XL) and a payment link will be sent.
