A man and a lorry collided on the M60 this morning which completely shut the motorway.

Police were called to the incident at around 6.20am, which took place near junction 13, Worsley Interchange.

It has also been reported by traffic website Inrix that the incident involved two lorries and two cars.

The condition of anyone involved in the incident is currently unknown.

All lanes on the clockwise side were shut as emergency services responded to the incident.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said this morning: “We were called at 6.20am to a report of a collision between a man and a lorry on the M60 clockwise near junction 13.

"Emergency services are currently responding, and this section of the clockwise side has been closed while this continues.

"Delays are expected for much of the morning."

With cars at a standstill, congestion was reported to go back to junction 10, Trafford Centre.

There were also reported to be queues on the anticlockwise side as onlookers slowed down to view the incident – back to junction 18, M66/M62 Simister Island.

Several other roads and motorways were feeling the affects of the incident, including the M61 and M62.

Many bus services were affected, including Diamond, who said: “Services: 20,22,21,132 and 126 - due to and RTC on motorway near Trafford we are experiencing delays on these services.

“Travel safe.”

The incident was cleared at around 11am and all lanes reopened soon after.
