PEOPLE from elsewhere always seem suprised when I tell them that Bolton has a thriving music scene.
Perhaps it's because we're oversahdowed by Manchester, or perhaps it's because Southerners think that they have the monopoly on hot, exciting new bands.
But for decades this town has produced some brilliant musicians - and not only in the guitar-wielding genres.
Tomorrow, March 7, live drum and bass collective The Broken Door will play at the Dog and Partridge.
With their penchanct for bum-shaking beats and clever tunes they're not your typical unsigned band.
But variety like this is exactly why we should be so proud of local music - and hope that it continues as such for many years to come.
