IT is impossible not to feel sorry for Britney Spears, whose current mental problems have almost certainly been caused by constant media-hounding and the pressures of an industry where women must always be thinner, prettier and younger.
But the news that she has been granted a weekly allowance of $1,500 (around £750) is not likely to win her any sympathy.
Many people take home less than this per month, and from that need to pay rent, bills etc.
If Britney's advisers can't teach her that £750 pocket money a week is more than enough, then the troubled star is more out of touch with reality than we originally thought.
